INSTTECH 6240 Understanding Instructional Design
In this course, I learned to design an instructional unit using the Understanding by Design method. This method starts with identifying the desired outcomes, then identifying acceptable evidence, and then planning the learning activities.
This unit aligns with Standards 1,3 and 5 of the Teacher Standards in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

This course focused on the design and implementation of online learning. We focused on the phases of engagement, effective teaching characteristics, and effective learning activities.

Integrating leading-edge research about emerging instructional technologies with hands-on experience. Study of existing applications and instructional implementations. Students create an interactive instructional environment and document their pedagogical choices.

MEASRES 6205 Educational Research
An introduction to research methods relevant to educational research with an emphasis on how these methods address the challenges of conducting research in applied settings such as schools. Course content includes a survey of major types of research designs (both quantitative and qualitative) and their associated approaches for minimizing bias, establishing validity, collecting data and drawing conclusions. A primary goal of this course is to equip students with an understanding of basic concepts and tools so they can systematically locate, efficiently read and critically evaluate empirical research studies.
